This years epic line-up will be announced July - August.
YES!!!! As we are a licensed premises we are R18!!! We WILL be checking ALL ID. Just like any bar, the ONLY ID we accept is:
- Valid HANZ 18+ card
- Valid NZ Drivers license
(these must not be expired).
Sure, campers from either campsite can visit any BW campsite at any stage of the day. Campers must check-in and set up their tents in their camp however as we have safety capacities.
BBQ’s / gas cookers / open flames are NOT permitted at BW Campgrounds (this includes generators and gas fridges - no gas/fuel or any appliances which run off these are allowed in). This is due to our consents with local council regarding fire safety issues. You can imagine the fire hazard of having so many closely confined tents with BBQ’s around. We take the safety of our guests extremely seriously and will be policing this accordingly. We will however have a range of NZ’s best festival/event caterers you can purchase food from!!!
Absolutely you can bring your campervan!! We do have limited space, so get in quick! The campervan area is separate to the main tent area, but is still in the mix at Churchill park. Churchill is just a short walk to the Skinny strip and main camping area, and when staying in Churchill you get free access to the Gisborne Olympic Pool complex - bonus! To bring your camper each camper must have their own camping ticket to BW, however only one camper needs to purchase the campervan upgrade (one upgrade per van). Upgrade through your minttix account. Once logged in, go to 'my tickets' and click on edit/upgrade. You can then purchase the campervan upgrade.
Although we won't be having gigs at the Jim Beam Soundshell on 29th & 30th, there will be some entertainment at the Beach Box stage for those who don't quite make it to R&V
▶ I type my name into the Find my mates box and I dont show up. Does this mean that I am not booked?!!
- No Sprits
- No drinking pharafinalia e.g Funnels
- No Scrumpy Hands
You can not come into the BW campsites if you are not camping at BW. You can however attend the Jim Beam Soundshell events. You will have to purchase day passes for these shows, there will be buses that come from R&V to the soundshell on the 28th.
Lost Property can be collected from the customer service location at the Train Station by the adventure playground along Centennial Marine Drive between 10am and 3pm each day. Outside these hours you will not be able to access lost property. This is because we want to keep these items as secure as possible, and so will have them locked in safe storage outside these hours.
(Found property can be handed in to any camp office or Customer Service Location)
Yes, a free bus service is provided between the 2 events. On the 28th there is a Bus from R&V to BW if you are camping onsite at R&V and are attending the Jim Beam Soundshell event. On 29th, 30th & 31st there is a free bus service between BW & R&V. Busloading at the soundshell and Bandcamp will start at 4pm each day, an additional bus loading point will open at 6pm in Churchill park

If you have a specific medical condition that requires particular medication it is recommended that you let us know. On your arrival to BW, go to your camp office, have a chat to the camp manager. Let they know who you are and what you require and they will help you out where they can with anything that you may require. Due to the nature of the event, we cannot guarantee we will be able to accommodate your specific needs - we would recommend you contact us at email@example.com to discuss your specific needs prior to the event.
Yes, if you are interested in working at BW email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We have now gone through the recruitment stage for almost every department and have filled most of our roles for 2012.
