Do& Don’ts
Do look after yourself look after your mates - remember the Do’s and Don’ts. Take care of your wristband as if it were your firstborn. It’s sturdy and resistant, but it’s not unbreakable. Don’t take it off for any reason and, by all means, do not lose it, it will cost you time and MONEY to replace.
Damaged or broken wristbands will not be admitted. You will need your wristband to be in perfect condition to enter both the concert venue and your camping area. Take good care of it, especially when at the beach. Safe sex always, if at BW, visit the Powder Room (for the girls) or go to the mobile clinic at the beach front between 10am - 3pm on the 28th, 29th & 30th to get your free condoms & free checks. Free condoms are available from the Info tent at R&V. Be smart about meeting “new friends”, use a condom, and let your friends know where you’re going. Look after yourself and look after your mates.
SLIP, SLOP, SLAP: Tomatos are
not sexy! And cancer rates are at
their highest. Sunblock is available at
Customer Service. Yes........ look after
yourselves, look after your mates.
HYDRATE: Drink lots of water, your
here to party! Party sensibly. Don’t be
afraid to put H2O into system. Keep
hydrated and see the night through.
There are plenty of Waterstations
around both BW & R&V Campsites
and the R&V festival site.
EAT: Eating is NOT cheating, after
traveling all this way, it would be a
shame to be the one that missed the
New Year sunrise. Both BW Campgrounds
& R&V have plenty of food
available 24/7. If you or your group
start to falter (or fall over) hydrate and
get a feed. We want to see you in the
morning.
SWIM BETWEEN THE FLAGS:
Gisborne beaches have world class
surf, this includes the rips and strong
tides. Life guards operate between
10am and 8pm. Swim with a friend
and do not drink and swim! Look after
yourselves...... Look after your mates.
Leave yourself plenty of time to get to
R&V. We have to get 20,000 people
out to the festival site. Expect delays,
get the bus early.
ILLEGAL SUBSTANCES - By law, illegal substances
are prohibited. In the case that
anyone is seen selling or consuming
such substances within the venue, they
will be immediately escorted out and
dealt with by the appropriate authorities.
If you choose to experiment be
smart, look after yourself look after your
mates. First aid operates 24/7 on both
sites report any welfare issues to staff.
FIRES: TOTAL FIRE BAN day and
night. It’s summer and you are surrounded
by nylon tents the last thing
we wan’t is for you to be heading home
crispy!
GLASS: NO Glass is allowed
anywhere within both BW and R&V
grounds. This is for your safety spending
the New Years Eve countdown in
Gissy Hospital being stitched up is no
fun neither is hopping around for the
rest of your stay!
DRINKING APPARATUS: Funnels,
‘Scrumpy Hands’ etc. have been
banned this year by the Police and
Licensing authorities - if you break
these rules you will be ejected from the
festival & campgrounds.
NO DICKHEAD POLICY: Leave the
dickheads at home! Antisocial behaviour
will not be tolerated, and verbal/
physical abuse of staff or other festival
goers is not acceptable.
